Our motivation
As a leader in sustainable water solutions, GF strives to protect vulnerable communities and provide safe water access. To raise awareness and to mobilize funding, the GF Water Foundation organizes the GF Walk for Water, an annual fundraising event in which participants pledge to walk approximately 2 kilometers with a bucket of water to symbolize the struggles millions face every day. We walk, so others don't have to.
Since 2016, with the support of our partner Water Mission, the GF Walk for Water has raised over USD 1.2 million that has provided safe water for more than 25'000 people (calculated with data provided by Water Mission). This funding has provided disadvantaged and disaster-stricken communities worldwide with the resources to improve water security and resource management, fostering sustainable long-term benefits for these communities. In 2023, the collected donations of around USD 525'000, have impacted many lives including Lucy Tomee's.
