GF Walk for Water

Moving water - making impact

Our motivation

The GF Walk for Water is the annual flagship event of the GF Water Foundation, sponsored by GF and supported by GF employees, bringing together GF employees and partners through a shared act of walking to raise awareness on the main causes of the global water crisis: climate change, and mismanagement of water.

It is global expression of solidarity. Step by step, participants walk together to raise awareness, inspire action, and contribute to fund solutions against the challenges of the global water crisis.

Our impact

The first GF Walk for Water began in 2016 at GF’s site in Irvine, California. What started as a local initiative has grown into a truly global movement, hosted by the GF Water Foundation and supported by GF sites worldwide. 

Since 2019, the GF Walk for Water has raised more than $1.9 million USD, helping deliver improved water security and sustainable solutions to communities in need around the world.

2025 GF Walk for Water

In 2025, the GF Walk for Water once again brought people together across 13 locations worldwide. More than 1,650 participants, including GF employees, families, and local communities, joined forces in support of a shared mission: to raise awareness for the global water crisis.

Together, we raised over USD 400,000 to fund water-related projects in Mexico,  Indonesia, Finland, and China. These initiatives focus on improving access to safe water and advancing sustainable solutions tailored to local challenges.

This impact is made possible by the collective effort behind it. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed your support helps drive meaningful and lasting change.

2024 GF Walk for Water

In 2024, 18 GF locations around the world came together to host the GF Walk for Water, uniting employees, families, and communities in a powerful show of solidarity for a vital cause.

Together, we raised over USD 555,000, a remarkable achievement that’s helping to bring safe water and lasting change to communities in need. The funds are supporting humanitarian aid and sustainable water initiatives across Mexico, Peru, Honduras, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, India, and Indonesia. Additionally, they supported refugee settlements in East Africa and helped deliver emergency relief in the wake of global disasters.
